Faith, Work and Friendship
Nav20's is a gathering of young professionals in Boston who desire to live out the gospel of Jesus right where they live, work and play. We meet every four to six weeks for brunch, dinner or something fun.
Most of us are connected with local churches through worship and small groups. But we have also discovered the value of alternative spaces that feature food, stories and talent in a way that welcomes our friends who may not be followers of Jesus. We create these gatherings with our friends in mind.
We also hope to discover mutual connections by vocation or location. Sometimes we find out that people live or work near each other and don't even know it. This may launch a prayer gathering, or a Bible study, or some friends who simply meet up to encourage one another.
As is possible, we also try to connect people with mentors, peers and mentees.

Our Nav20's mission in Boston is to help you advance the gospel among the peers God has given you.
How are we doing this?
- Life-to-Life Discipleship: we offer mentors to help you grow in four pursuits:
- To know, love and follow Christ with all your heart
- To honor Christ in your workplace and profession
- To advance the gospel among those without Christ, especially your peers
- To team with other Christ-followers of like heart and purpose
- Community Building: we create safe spaces and events that form community networks with you, your co-workers, and other friends regardless of spiritual beliefs.
- Investigative Bible Studies: we launch groups of believers and spiritually interested friends who investigate the Bible together to learn about the person of Jesus.
How you can be involved:
- Become a Friend - a Friend is an individual who agrees with the mission of Nav20's Boston and who desires to connect their peers with our community via events and networks. A Friend may also desire to be discipled and to disciple others.
- Become a Partner - a Partner is an individual who agrees with the mission of Nav20's Boston Navs and who desires to help plan and lead community building events. A partner will come together with other partners on a monthly basis (virtually or in person) to pray, organize gatherings, and develop networks in the city of Boston.
- Become a Pioneer - a Pioneer is an individual who agrees with the mission of Nav20's Boston and desires to reach their co-workers for Christ. This can take the form of Investigative Bible Discussions (IBD'S), or whatever is appropriate for each individual. A pioneer will be encouraged to be discipled for personal growth and encouragement, as well as to learn skills needed disciple others and to lead an IBD.
Frequently Asked Questions:
- How often are your Nav20's gatherings and what do you do?
During the pandemic we've had to move to online formats rather than our previous in person gatherings. However we continue to host weekly investigative bible studies and Life-to-Life discipleship for individuals looking to deepen their faith in Christ all on online formats.
- How does Nav 20's fit with my local church involvement?
We expect that most people in Nav20's are active in a local church. Many of us gather in church-based community groups. We are not trying to replace the worship, teaching, sacraments and fellowship found in local congregations.
We are also mindful that there are hundreds of thousands of young adults in the greater Boston area who don't go to church (and who don't really intend to.) We believe that people are far more spiritually curious than we give them credit for. We think that everyone is looking for friends, community, and purposeful living. This "outside the church" niche is one that we hope Nav20's can help fulfill.
- Do you have any opportunities for community service?
The Navigators in Boston partner with a couple different agencies serving among people affected by homelessness, incarceration and systemic injustice. We welcome inquiries as to how you could volunteer.
- What if I would like to host a Bible Study or Investigative Bible Discussion?
Please do! We are especially interested in creating Bible studies, IBD's or devotional groups near where people live or work.
- What are ways I can contribute?
There are multiple ways. You can donate food for one of our gatherings when we begin to meet again in person. You can suggest or host a fun activity. You can help with social media or with some of our administrative tasks. You can serve on our leadership team. You can donate financially.
- What if I am in my 30's - can I participate?
Yes. We especially are looking for people who are a little more established in their careers who can serve as hosts, connectors and mentors.

Moving to the city and need a place to live?
We don't have a housing bulletin board although you can always contact us - we might have some ideas.
We always steer people to the Park Street Church Housing Bulletin Board or to the UniteBoston Housing Bulletin Board. You can often find housing and potential roommates, and you can post your own needs..
