Community

Pursuing Biblical Community
The Lord designed us to walk with Him in community with others.  A disciple of Jesus will intentionally pursue and create a local community of believers who will spur each other toward love and good deeds. (Hebrews 10:24-25).  Additionally a vibrant Biblical community will draw those without Christ to the Lord (John 13:33-34).

A brief study of the New Testament yields many "one another's" that believers are called to engage in:
  • "Love one another…” (John 13:34)
  • "Live in harmony with one another…” (Romans 12:16)
  • "Instruct one another.” (Romans 15:14)
  • “Serve one another in love.” (Galatians 5:13)
  • "Be kind and compassionate to one another…” (Ephesians 4:32)
  • “Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.” (Ephesians 5:19)
  • “Admonish one another (Colossians 3:16)
  • “Encourage one another daily” (Hebrews 3:13)

Over the next four weeks we will explore some important themes associated with Biblical community.
